It’s finally time folks! July will mark five years that I have been in the industry. I really can’t believe that it has been that long. When I first started my I wrote out a five-year plan and now that I am approaching five full years. I am definitely going to be writing another plan now for the next five years. I strongly suggest people do so they have a goal to work towards. Anyway, without knowing where our family would be, I wrote that I wanted my business to be able to financially sustain our family if need be, and that I wanted to create art that I was proud of in a specialty that I connect to. How crazy it is that almost exactly five years later I have locked into my brand, and specialty of marriage (weddings + families) and my business is actually sustaining our lifestyle while Steve goes back to school full-time to get his Master’s of Divinity and interns at our church. I need to have a HUGE five-year anniversary this year. Don’t you think?

So, over the last couple of years I have been thinking about starting mentor/coaching sessions for fellow photographers, but I have gone back and forth because, honestly, I wanted to be sure this was something I was doing for the right reason: to help aspiring professional photographers grow their businesses! But, over the past six months, the idea has been constantly coming up, and I finally decided I just have to do this because I love people and I love this industry.

I had an experience once where I paid a lot of money to go to an educational coaching session, and I could tell it was purely transactional. Meaning, they didn’t care about my business; rather they cared about the money that I gave them. I cried most of the way home because everything was very rushed and I felt like I was interrupting their day. I was mad that I spent my money to learn from a name that was big, and not the person I believed in. I promised I would never do that and so I have spent a lot of time thinking about a way where I can connect to photographers and also provide an education they would want. I wanted it to be a wonderful experience just like the one I had with Katelyn James. Just last week I taught a free class at Dover AFB to a group of women about digital photography basics. These weren’t aspiring business owners, but I really enjoyed teaching them and it gave me the push to do what I have wanted to do for a while now: One-on-One Mentor Sessions!

This allows me the time to connect with each of you and really get to know you. There is no agenda because everyone has something different to learn. And, it allows for you to come in and learn a handful of stuff that you can immediately take back home to your business.   This could be about branding, honing in on what genre you like, pricing issues, learning how to do authentic posing, post-processing, etc. It could really be about anything you struggle with.

Because I love you, I love this industry, and I really want to get to know you, your heart, and this business, I would like to launch my Spring and Summer Coaching Sessions by offering an exclusive introductory rate of $350!

Mentor Sessions Will Include:

-Three hours of one on one question and answer that can be about whatever you think you struggle with the most in your business. Some examples may be:
