Gah! I am thrilled to be able to share this newborn session with you this morning. My friend from our church first mentioned Mikayla’s story in our weekly community group meet-ups. Little Mikayla was unexpectedly born at 26 weeks, and so we prayed over her that night and continued to pray throughout the next couple of weeks. She was born weighing 2 lbs and 1 ounce and she continued to stay in the hospital almost up until her original due date. It was so special to be able to meet, photograph, and hold this miracle angel baby when she was released from the hospital at around 2.5 months old and weighed approximately 6 lbs! To say she is a fighter would be an understatement. I’m so happy for this beautiful family and can’t wait to watch her grow up!
This might be my most colorful newborn session to date, but it is Spring and we need some more color in our lives! I hope you enjoy some of my faves from our session.

I love this combo, but she about had enough sleepy time. Some of my fave pics are yawning pics. And she just has the cutest yawn.
This was a studio session, but we had a chance to snap a few mommy pics after she had something to eat. Love these!
