Things just got real. I actually can’t even believe I am typing this update. It shouldn’t surprise me AT ALL because The Lord is SO good and He never fails us. But, last week was kind of a pinch-me-we-MUST-be-dreaming kind of week. If you have been staying up with our journey, then you know that almost a year ago Steve quit his full-time job as a Project Manager to help me with the business and pursue his calling into the ministry. He started school in September of 2014 to begin his Masters of Divinity and then a few weeks ago we announced that Steve had been offered a job at our current church. We also mentioned that this job was unique in the fact that we had to fundraise for the position much like a missionary would have to fundraise for a mission trip. The reason for this is because, although there is a need for his position at our growing church, our church budget simply cannot take on another salary right now. So fundraising for a position like Steve’s is fairly common in growing churches and that is where we are right now. Fast forward a couple weeks and imagine our surprise when we heard that we already raised enough for Steve to begin work! YESSS! Can you believe it? I can’t. I mean, I CAN because God is SO good (did you get that yet?), but I think I slowly sat down on the couch completely dumbfounded with how fast it all happened. Then I just prayed and prayed and prayed and thanked God for His faithfulness, and the faithfulness of His people who were so kind to pray over us, our church, and give to this fundraiser.
Because you all are so awesome and have been supporting our family in many ways, we wanted to keep you updated with what is currently happening so you know your support is working in SO many ways. Steve had his first day as a Pastoral Intern last Tuesday. A Pastoral Intern, friends! Thinking about how God is weaving such a beautiful story together through Steve’s testimony literally gives me chills. I only hope our family can live out our lives to glorify His name.
We also have currently raised $4,800 that got us over the initial hump which allowed Steve to start. He is excited and blessed to be in this position, but we still have a goal to raise the total annual amount of $16,500 for the year. To aid with some fundraising visualization, we’ve put together the below bar chart so we can all watch it grow with each update.
