I have been wanting to do one of these blog posts for forever and I just never got around to it. But now I have so many things I want to share, I just have to do it.  Because, why not share some of things that make me happy? I’m calling this series “Front Porch Favorites.” The name matches my brand and I love these things  almost as much as I love cozy front porches. Also, Steve’s suggestion, “It’s Not Raindrops on Roses or Whiskers on Kittens, But These Are a Few of My Favorite Things” was just a bit too long for the post.

I hope you enjoy some of my Front Porch Favorites of the month…

1.) My new handmade quilt – My new family quilt was given to me by my neighbor, Meg.  She surprised me with this gift last week knowing I had been wanting a family quilt  to keep in my living room since I moved in last almost a year ago. I love all things hand-made and even MORE special is that my first neighborhood friend gifted this to us for our first family home. I hope it stays with this home forever. And in true Stacy fashion, I totally cried when she placed it in my arms. I kept hugging her and crying, hugging and crying. I was a mess!  I don’t know if she realizes it, but this is super special to me and it looks perfect on our couch!

2.)  Downtown Boutiques – You know my love for small businesses and entrepreneurs, but now it’s becoming my thing. Before I go shopping at any franchise store, I always check out my favorite boutiques or local small businesses.  Recently another adorable boutique opened up in downtown Dover right across the street from my favorite boutique, Bel Boutique (to be featured on another Front Porch Favorites). It is super cute and they are selling the sweetest gifts, accessories, and clothing for momma’s to be and their little Dinos & Darlings.

Charlie Jones says, “You are the same today as you’ll be in five years except for two things: the books you read and the people you meet.” How can I grow if I am not learning new things? So a few months ago I started writing down all the books that my favorite people were suggesting and I started with this book. And Ohhhh man! It’s been rocking my world. My only complaint is that I can’t get to it enough. Screen Shot 2014-11-06 at 8.15.08 AM4.) STITCHFIX – If you are friends with me, you have probably heard me raving about this genius service that I have fallen in love with. Stitchfix is like hiring a personal stylist. When you sign up, you answer a bunch of questions about your likes and dislikes, size, favorite assets, price points, etc. and then you can add extra notes and inspiration (Pinterest links) to send off to your stylist. You get to choose how often you would like your shipments and what you would like to receive as far as dresses, casual or business clothes. Then you get a box with 4-5 clothing items and an accessory. You get to keep whatever you want and send back whatever you don’t want in a pre-paid USPS mailing envelope. The best part is that you get a $25 referral credit for each person you refer so it could be free shopping! It’s pretty simple and SO MUCH FUN! You can sign up here.
