Happy new year, friends! I am so excited to be officially back into the blogging world for 2016 and I can’t think of a better way to start it off than this post right here. I have three HUGE photography goals this year and they are pretty simple:
1.) Start shooting film more consistently
2.) Experiment with low light in personal and professional photos
AND
3.) stretch myself creatively with details shots in my personal and professional photos
At the end of last year, I was fortunate to join a group of fabulous photographers for a photography project called Project Ten. Project Ten is a group of photographers who have challenged themselves to capture and share ten photos of their day-to-day personal lives on the tenth of each month. One thing I learned by following some of these ladies last year is that their personal work not only grew creatively, but they captured some absolutely precious moments that may have otherwise been forgotten.
I’m stoked for this project because I think the other photographers will inspire me to dig deeper into my creativity and to not just settle for a basic portrait. I need friends like this in the industry to stretch me and I am so excited I get to do that in the comfort of my own day-to-day life. I hope you all follow along and see growth and even different stylistic approaches each month.
So, without further ado, here is my January Project Ten post. I kept this within a theme this month with some shots of baby August and big brother.
Oops, one more thing. I have started a hashtag series with baby August called #Augustandthefox on my IG feed. I hope to post a couple photos every month so I can see my last little baby grow up. Here was his first August and the Fox shot at two weeks. You will see his second one at the end of the post.
I’d love for you to follow and show some love to my fellow Project Ten photographers: Paula Richwine, Cait Jensen, Lisa O’Brien, Rebecca Bender, Parker Slaton, Claire Bunn, Rae Barnes, Lisa Turner, Erin Gregerson, Kelly Lapp, Katie Hall, Kate Neal, Emily Troutman, Heather Butler
