“The concept of perfection is not flawless or ripped from a magazine. It’s happiness. Happiness with all its messiness and not-quite-thereness. It’s knowing life is short, and the moments we choose to fill our cup with should be purposeful and rich. That we should be present for life, that we should drink deeply. And that’s perfection.” -Kelle Hampton
For a long time I have struggled with balance and being able to enjoy all the little moments, even the ones that are messy. I feel that especially since becoming a momma, it’s easy to get sucked into the whirlwind of “too busy” or “not enough time.” And often, the smallest of moments pass by me so fast that I can’t even catch my breath long enough to take it in. This summer I have tried to be intentional to fill my cup with handfuls of these little moments. Even if they might seem insignificant or chaotic. And even if I feel inconvenienced or stressed for time. I am constantly reminded by an undeniable force on my heart to be present in my life. That a purposeful and rich life doesn’t have to be extravagant. It could simply be eating together around the dinner table, a walk around the block, or dancing in the rain after a storm. How will you fill your cup today?
