Almost two years ago Steve and I moved into our first real family home in a perfect new construction neighborhood not too far from our old place. We were a growing family with two young kids so when we were going through the building process, we picked a plot of land in the back of the neighborhood in a cul-de-sac. We loved the idea of being able to let our kids play around without much disruption of traffic while we sit on our covered porch swing and sip on some lemonade or wine (pssst that was kind of a small part of the inspiration for my front porch swing logo). Not too long after we moved in, our neighbors started filling in every few months and by mid summer we had a cul-de-sac full of very good friends – both for the kids and for us. So we were elated to hear not one, but two, of my momma friends were expecting another baby this summer. More babies for the cul-de-sac crew! When Steve and I found out we were expecting our third it was almost laughable. Three out of the four girls were pregnant at the same time! I think it is going to be so special to watch them all grow up together. Steph was the furthest along and was going to be the first one to have her sweet baby girl this summer. She actually just had baby Noelle a few days ago (eeeep! I can’t wait to meet her), but with all my weddings lately I couldn’t post her maternity session in time. I sometimes think the maternity sessions are even more special to see right after you meet your baby. Something about thinking back on the almost 40 week pregnancy after meeting your precious gift from above feels just miraculously lovely to me. Don’t you think?
