Last year I kept seeing the term B.H.A.G. pop up on some of the blogs I often read. It stands for Big Hairy Audacious Goal, and the good Lord knows I have some of those. As I was reading others’ BHAGs, I was secretly thinking to myself: my BHAGs are so big that they aren’t even worth writing down. And then I realized that is the wrong thought process. You are supposed to write down your BHAGs! The point is to write them down because then it makes them more attainable. So, I haphazardly wrote one down on a sheet of paper at the end of last year, and stuffed it away in my planner. I haven’t looked at it since, because to be honest, my BHAGs kind of scare me. Can I really accomplish these BHAGs? Maybe one day I will share all of these with you, but for this post I will share with you one BHAG I got to check off my list over the weekend.

That’s right! It’s a “featured” section. Excuse me while I squuueeee! Because as of last weekend, I have officially been FEATURED on one of my favorite blogs, which makes TWO features all together! Being featured in
Lemonade and Lenses was on my BHAG list for this year. I loooooveee all their magazines, and have found so many artists from their blog and publications. I know it isn’t the same as being published in print, which is also a BHAG of mine, but this is
HUGE for me. It means I put my work out there to possibly be rejected! It means that I submitted to one of my favorite blogs where thousands of other photographers submit their work to and they accepted
my work. It means I am making steps toward growth. I am so proud of myself for doing this! And now that I have checked this BHAG off my list, I am going to pull out that list and start working on the others.
Write down your BHAGs and start working towards them. No matter how big and scary they look to you. They are worth the effort!
