With Steve being home this year we get to do something that we have never ever been able to do. Next week, after Christmas, we are taking a day to dream together. We are going to find a cozy corner at a local café and write out all of our 2015 Goals –business and personal. We are breaking things down and discussing things that worked and didn’t work in 2014. We are going to look even further into the things that worked and make sure we are doing it exactly the way we want to do it. I am SO excited for this meeting because I feel like there are a ton of ideas swimming around in my head and I want to get them all down on paper and discussed out loud. Right now, I have a clipboard with a piece of paper on it that has a list of brain-dumped ideas sprinkled everywhere. Most of these ideas would have probably been lost in the next week or two if I didn’t make it official and if I didn’t speak them into a life dream with my best friend and partner. I love talking goals and I love having a list of action steps to use to work toward accomplishing those goals. In the past, all of our goals have been spoken in passing conversations where we leave only partially motivated to work towards them. I’m determined to make 2015 different. I want to punch fear in the face and start focusing on how to make our dreams come true.

I don’t want to get too much further into this post about dreams because that will be for another post where we share with you our 2015 goals. Today I want to focus on just one thing that I changed this year about my business that I love!!! This year we changed my Stacy Hart Photography experience to be a boutique experience. I stopped being the “shoot and burn” or “one and done” photographer for my clients. I focused on making an experience and building a personal relationship with each of them. Because of that, some clients have become amazing friends, which is exactly what I had hoped for. I just can’t imagine doing this business any other way. Why hire a photographer who doesn’t put her heart and soul into photographing your heart and soul? I just don’t understand that. Steve and I were blessed to have over 45 families/couples in our home this year. I laughed with many, cried with a few, and most importantly got to hear your stories. I really got to know you. This is what it is all about for me. Next year, although we are tweaking our process to make it even more special, we are definitely going to continue to do the business this way. One of the things we are going to be working on at the beginning of the year is offering more fine art products. We want the finest quality paper for your art. We want you to have the most unique, special, and priceless experience. We want this experience and your art to have substance. And then, we want you to have a tangible artifact of your love to keep forever.

I am so excited to feature our newest product. Our Fine Art Keepsake Prints. These prints will be offered A La Carte or part of a collection this year.

We are working on new packaging too! This isn’t the final, but we are working on it.

GAH! Can’t wait for 2015!

XO,

Stacy

Loved reading about your transition to a boutique experience. Can you talk about the things you’ve learned when looking for print products, such as the quality of paper?

Hi Reese! I will be writing a post about fine art paper versus the regular professional kodak endura paper in the future. Thanks for tuning in!
