I remember the very moment I fell in love with each of my children. If I close my eyes, I can connect immediately to the overwhelming sense of love and peace I felt. That other-worldly beauty that just seemed to freeze those first few moments in time. I like to believe that God designed this whole process of childbirth to be difficult and exhausting and tiresome, and something that requires every bit of woman’s strength and will, so that in that moment when she first meets her child, she can feel the power of that love. A mother experiences going from the worst pain imaginable, to being more in love than she ever thought possible, in a matter of moments. It feels as if God is bonding two hearts together right then.  Like He is placing his hands around your child, and around you, and holding you both in his arms together. And you just know: this love is perfectly created just for the two of you. And in that moment, you feel invincible. All is right in the world.

And then a few sleep deprived nights go by and you leave the hospital…

And you stay up late with your child. You develop zombie-like features, and fight the daily battle between prioritizing showering and eating. You lose your patience more than find it. You start to crave silence. You become second, or even third or fourth to so many people. You even start to lose who you were before having a child. The once funny, energetic, uplifting, quick-witted, well-styled mom, is now satisfied to walk out the front door with matching shoes and a shirt free of snot. The days go by, and although you look at your child and fall more in love with different features that are changing and character that is building, you kind of start forgetting that divine bonding moment that happens right after birth. I know you feel it though, in glimpses. It’s in the moment that your toddler utters “momma” for the first time, or smiles from ear to ear when you get him from the bed in the morning. It’s in the moments when your four year old baby girl runs to you and squeezes your neck after school and tells you that she loves you so much. Or maybe when your teenager isn’t embarrassed to hug you at a school function.

There are traces of these small moments of other-worldly, beautiful love you had when you first met your child. Whether at birth, or on that divine “Gotcha Day”.  That day when your child came home to your arms.  I am sure every mother feels it, and it is these moments that carry us through the exhausting days. The days where we just need to survive, and where the mommy guilt lays on thick. If you can connect with any of this, I am here to tell you that you don’t need to search for yourself any longer. You, my friend, are a Mom.  A Mommy.  A Momma.  Even, dare I say it, a Mother. This is a badge of honor. The lack of brain cells, the loose skin, and stretch marks, the peeing when you sneeze, and daily sacrifice of yourself is what makes you so special. You are a Mommy. That means you can have the worst day in the world, and your daughter will still want you to tuck her into bed, because she forgets the moments when you lost your cool. She only feels that connection that she had when she first locked eyes on you.

Wouldn’t you love to capture those moments in time?  Be able to hold them in your hand, pull them out and look at them, or catch a glimpse of them on your wall as you pass by on a particularly challenging Mommy day?  I am here to give you that gift.  That life boat!  I specialize in capturing the special connection between you and your child, and making it a permanent visual in your home.  Check out my Mother’s Day deal, and make a date with your child today.
